Braces

Braces are the most traditional type of orthodontic treatment and they can move your teen’s teeth into the ideal position with confidence and security. There is no doubt that modern braces are comfortable and very reliable, being able to address both simple and complex orthodontic problems.

How do braces work?

Braces cause the teeth to move to the correct position by using brackets, wires, and coloured rubbers. Teenagers usually enjoy choosing different colours of rubber bands when they attend their appointments.

What are the benefits of braces for teens?

Metal braces are a tried-and-tested method to treat almost all sorts of orthodontic problems. With advances in orthodontic technology, brackets are now smaller and less noticeable, making them a very acceptable choice for teens. Besides colours that show off their personality, teens tend to like braces too because they are fixed to the teeth and can be more convenient for those who forget stuff.

How long does braces treatment take?

It typically takes 12-18 months for an orthodontic treatment to be completed. There are some teens who may require less than 12 months of treatment, while others who have more complex needs may require up to three years of treatment before their teeth reach the desired position. Each patient’s mouth is unique, so orthodontics is not a one-size-fits-all solution

Do braces hurt?

Many people wonder whether braces cause any pain or discomfort. The truth is, braces don’t hurt at all when they’re applied to your teeth, so there’s really no reason to be nervous. After the orthodontic wire is engaged in the newly placed brackets, mild soreness or discomfort may occur for a few days to a week. It may take one to two weeks for the lips and cheeks to adjust to the braces. We use state-of-the-art appliances and wires that exert light and biocompatible forces, so any soreness is greatly reduced.

How much does braces treatment cost?

Braces cost range from $8250 for single arch treatment to $10250 for double arch – most commonly recommended for correcting the bite.
